Hotel Location

The hotel is situated on the promenade, perfect for walks along the coast with access to a 600-metre stretch of beach which is just metres away. It is located 18 kilometres from Budva.

There is a local bus service to Budva every two hours from a bus stop 100 metres away. Tivat airport is a 45 minutes away.

Petrovac

Located in the small and peaceful fishing village of Petrovac, the Palas Hotel is the perfect base from which to explore Montenegro and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. The Palas is conveniently located within walking distance of the bars, cafes and restaurants of Petrovac.

Brajici-Milocer

  • Distance: 10 kilometres
  • Difficulty: Moderate, with some ascents and descents

You will be collected from your hotel and taken to Kosmac Fortress, built by the Austrians in the 19th century, to begin your walk. You'll cover a wide variety of terrain on this walk and can enjoy dramatic views of the exclusive island resort of Sveti Stephan en route. A minibus will take you back to your hotel.

Jaz-Trsteno-Krimovica

  • Distance: 6 kilometres
  • Difficulty: Moderate, with some ascents and descents

Compare and contrast inland and coastal scenery on this six-kilometre walk that takes you from the lovely islet of Jaz, just 55 metres off the coast near Primosten. Walk along the coastal road to Ploce beach and on to the village of Krimovica and nearby Trsteno, which is renowned for its sandy beach.

Lovcen National Park

  • Distance: 7 kilometres
  • Difficulty: Moderate, with some ascents and descents

Learn a little about the spiritual history of Montenegro and its significant icons before setting off. Start your walking tour in the National Park of Lovcenas, where your route skirts the foothills of the twin peaks of Mount Lovcen, enjoying wonderful views of the UNESCO-protected Bay of Kotor on the Adriatic coast. The walk ends at the base of the Njegoš mausoleum on Mount Lovcen. Here the remains of Petar II Petrovic Njegoš (1813-1851) are interred. This Serb icon, a poet and ruler who laid the foundations for the modern Montenegrin state, has been dubbed the Montenegrin Shakespeare. Here you can relax in a cafe and take in the views, or if you still have energy you can climb the 461 steps to the top of the mausoleum.

Rustovo Monastery

  • Distance: 6 kilometres
  • Difficulty: Moderate, with some ascents and descents

This short but fascinating walk takes you to the forest Pastrovka and the Rustovo Monastery which was built in memory of the 1400 people from Pastrovici who were murdered by the Hungarian king Ludovic in 1378. Along the way enjoy breathtaking views of the tiny islet of Sveti Stefan, the coastal resort of Becici and the historical old town of Budva.

  • Distance: 8 kilometres
  • Difficulty: Moderate, with some ascents and descents

Follow a hiking trail from the village of Vrmac down to Gornja-Lastva, where pomegranates and olives proliferate. Marvel at Montenegro’s rich Mediterranean flora and charming rustic architecture as you descend the trail.

On this walking holiday look forward to enjoying five moderate walks in the company of an experienced local walking guide. Walks are between 6 and 10 kilometres in length, with ascents and descents, some over rough ground.
