  • Smell and feel authentic Italian products at the weekly market that spreads along the lakefront
  • Gaze down on the town from the keep at the glorious Desenzano Castle

Something for Everyone

Desenzano is famous for its museum, Roman villa and the fashionable boutiques crammed into its narrow streets, as well as the gelaterias, cafés and bars dotted throughout. And each week it hosts a large market that spreads along the lakefront. From the harbour, follow the esplanade along the shore and you’ll reach shingle beaches either side of the town.

More to see

Desenzano is one of the few resorts on the lake that has a train station, which gives easy access to Milan, Verona and Venice, and makes the resort equally popular with Italians who live in the city and want to spend a few days relaxing beside the lake. If you'd rather travel by water, the ferry service is a scenic way to explore the resorts on the eastern side of the lake, like Bardolino and Garda.

Here are some ideas of things to do when staying in Desenzano:

  • Outdoor pool

  • Roman villa
