Becici is a modern town located in the southern Adriatic on the coast of Montenegro.
This coastal resort was once a small fishing village and has grown with tourism in mind. Spreading upwards from a fantastic beach into pine filled hills, a holiday to Becici offers you a sunshine break with a laid-back atmosphere.
What are the beaches like in Becici?
Becici is said to have one of the best beaches in the Mediterranean. Backed by mountains, its three kilometres of sand and small pebbles is perfect for spending the day lazing on. Soak up the sunshine then cool off in the warm, clear waters of the Adriatic. If you're looking for something more strenuous to do, why not hire a canoe or pedalo and explore the waves a little closer?
Sightseeing in Becici
Becici is two kilometres away from the older resort of Budva which can be reached easily by public transport or on foot along the sea front. Here you'll find historic charm and a more traditional way of life. Wander amongst the walled town past red-tiled buildings and down cobbled streets leading to squares and markets.
The nearby hotel island of Sveti Stefan is said to be the most picturesque part of the Montenegrin coast and worth a visit just to see how they've adapted an island of houses into a hotel.
Eating out in Becici
Becici holidays offer many dining options, most being focused on local fare. Sample the national delicacy of goat's cheese and ham drizzled with a little olive oil. The cafes that line the resort's promenade have daily fish specials and other Montenegrin options. If you're looking for more variety wander along the coastal path to neighbouring Budva where evenings are slightly busier and more restaurants are located.
