Conrad Maldives boasts the Maldives' most iconic restaurant. Venture 16 feet below the ocean to dine at one of the world's most extraordinary venues, with 180 views of marine life through its glass walls and arched glass roof. Topped off with gourmet Maldivian-Western fusion set menus and Champagne cocktails, beautiful Ithaa is unique and a little surreal. Pre-book a table around two weeks in advance so that you don't miss out! The two islands that make up the resort are quite distinct. A 500-metre timber footbridge connects the main hub of Rangalifinolhu, which is ideal for families, with the smaller Rangali Island. On Rangalifinolhu, the atmosphere is cool and lively.
Accommodation is split over the two islands: spacious Beach Villas and Deluxe Beach Villas with private plunge pool on Rangalifinolhu Island and a range of water villas off Rangali Island. If you're planning a pampering escape, the Retreat Water Villas have a separate private treatment room. Sunset Water Villas have their own private area of the lagoon and a master bedroom with revolving round bed.
Ithaa Undersea Restaurant is far more than a restaurant, this is a true dining experience, 16 feet below the ocean. Pre-book a table and indulge with contemporary cocktails and delicious Maldivian-Western fusion dishes. Choose between the four-course set menu for lunch and the six-course set menu for dinner.
On Rangalifinolhu Island, The Atoll Market is the resort's buffet offering, and even this boasts eight kitchens showcasing Japanese, Indian, Italian and Asian flavours on the beach under fragrant frangipani trees. Vilu sits at the lagoon's edge, pairing contemporary Mediterranean fine dining with an extensive wine selection. The open-air Koko Grill is an exclusive candlelit affair with space for just 12 diners around a table on the beach. Experience Japanese-influenced live cooking and enjoy nine courses against the sounds of the sea.
Over water, the Mandhoo Spa Restaurant offers organic gourmet cuisine in accordance with the 'five elements', and the Sunset Grill specialises in freshly grilled produce, with dishes 'from the land' and 'from the sea' as well as a mustard menu! The four bars include the intimate, volcanic sand-floored Cheese & Wine Bar featuring 101 of the world's best cheeses, hand-picked by the resort's Matre de Fromage, and there's a further underground Wine Cellar for dgustation dinners hosted by the chef and sommelier.
The most sociable spot is the sand-floored main bar, Rangali Bar, offering modern cocktails, live music and daybeds perfect for lounging on. On Rangali Island, The Quiet Zone is an adults-only tented lounge on the beach, with a cocktail menu, light bites, romantic daybeds and chilled out music.
