The Retreat clings to the
side of a tree−covered coastal hillside; the various buildings are linked by
numerous steps and paths leading down to the shores of the Ionian Sea.

A collection of beaches forms the edge of our watersports area and a shallow sand bar allows access to our sailing beach on the tiny island of Mourtemeno just opposite.
The small port of Sivota is a 10−minute walk or short water taxi journey away where you will find a relaxed laid back atmosphere.
Further afield, boat trips are available to Paxos and Antipaxos.
An hour south of Sivota is Parga; bursting with history the impressive 14th Century castle reflects the town's varied history between the Venetians and Ottomans.

Rooms
Rooms are either in the main hotel or in villa style garden rooms.
Garden rooms are set out over two floors, whilst hotel rooms are over three floors. Rooms in the main building
are close to the restaurant and reception, whilst the garden rooms offer a more peaceful and private setting.
Twin and double bedded rooms are available in the garden or main hotel with balcony or terrace. Triple rooms are also available.
Inter−connecting rooms consist of a double bedroom and a twin or triple room, each with a bathroom and balcony or terrace. Inter−connecting rooms sleeping up to 6 people are located in the main building and sleeping up to 4 people in the garden rooms.
Family bunkbed rooms in the main building consist of a double room, connecting via a door way to a second room with bunkbeds or 2 children's beds for 2 children up to 12 years.
Rooms are of a good standard with air conditioning, fridge, telephone, TV, safety deposit box, hairdryer, en−suite shower and balcony or small terrace, the majority with a sea view. Wi−Fi is available in most rooms, the bar and restaurant areas for an additional charge. All rooms are large enough to take a cot.

For children
Neilson run children's clubs are available all season for children aged 4 months to 17 years.

Activities
The sheltered waters and calm conditions make sailing for beginner's ideal.
In the afternoon the sailing area extends beyond the island for intermediates to make the most of the breeze further out.
Novice or expert waterskiers and wakeboarders can make the most of the flat water throughout the day, with the premium package available to book for a supplement for those who are really keen.
For the more energetic, The Retreat is a particularly good option for those looking to enjoy a comprehensive fitness programme. We can offer a range of guided bike rides, fitball, gym and tennis sessions, as well as road bikes, swim coaching (at a supplement), a dedicated triathlon training camp and specialist yoga weeks. Really keen road bikers can opt to reserve one of our carbon frame bikes for their exclusive use for a small supplement.
One of the most popular activities is to take a kayak and explore the secluded coves, bays and beaches surrounding the club, we have a good range of canoes and kayaks together with British Canoe Union (BCU) coaches to ensure you make the most of this activity.
For a supplement you can spend the day on one of our skippered day yachts or enjoy a 2−day flotilla taster experience and make the most of the breeze outside the bay whilst exploring secluded bays further up the coast. You could also choose to join our 4−day ‘Flotilla Skipper' course and learn the skills required to sail a yacht in the Med.
For those who prefer a gentler pace there is table tennis, boules or maybe a relaxing massage in the spa area before a pre−dinner cocktail.
