Portugal Beach Week w/Meals & Fitness Classes

Stroll along the palm fringed promenade which sweeps around the bay, and enjoy a cooling drink from one of the waterside cafes or browse the craft stalls and shops. The sheltered bay is perfect for watersports, or you can play on one of the superb nearby golf courses or enjoy a scenic horseback ride. If you prefer more extreme sports, you can try out the nearby quad biking, rock climbing or microlighting. Alternatively, explore the local countryside by foot or mountain bike, or visit the nearby port town of Lagos with its pretty cobbled squares and bustling marina.

The Ocean Club Beach Resort offers first class childcare from 1 year, four swimming pools, one of which is reserved for adults, its own exclusive tennis club plus a health and beauty salon with a great range of pampering treatments including exotic frangipani body wraps, massages and even a funky fingers nail polish session for kids.

Free wifi access is available in both the Mill and Garden Bars. However there is no access in any of the apartments.

Accommodation

The charming apartments are clustered in different locations around the pretty town of Luz, no more than a ten-minute walk away from the Ocean Club Resort's Mill Restaurant and Bar, where breakfast and dinner are served. Choose from a one, two or three bedroom apartment, all fully furnished, including television, kettle, toaster, oven, crockery, cutlery and a fridge, plus all linen and bath towels.

Each apartment is unique; some come with their own garden, some with sea views and some overlooking the pool at the resort. All of them have either a terrace or a balcony. Hairdryers can be hired for €10 per week and safety deposit boxes are available in reception.

Dining

Dining at the Ocean Club is on a half board basis. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the mornings at the Mill Restaurant, where you can choose your favourites from the breakfast buffet enjoy a delicious croissant or indulge in a full English breakfast. For six days of the week, our chefs serve a superb three course a la carte dinner at the Mill Restaurant, featuring fresh, local ingredients. For one night of the week, you're free to try out one the many restaurants around the village or on the promenade overlooking the beach. There's a fantastic choice of restaurant around, some of which specialise in the local fish and seafood which abounds along this coastline including squid, prawns, clams, sardines, bream and monkfish.

For lunch you can stock up on gorgeous local salads and fruit at the local supermarkets and have a lazy meal at your apartment. A visit to the nearby bakery for freshly baked rolls is a must. Alternatively, you can lie by the poolside at the resort where your lunch will be freshly cooked to order at the grill if you wish.

Health and Beauty

Our Ocean Club Viva Health and Beauty Salon provides a range of treatments and massage to help you unwind whether you've had an active day or not.

Our qualified therapists use Elemis products and products are available to purchase on site. Our treatment rooms are peaceful and tranquil - the perfect spot to relax for an hour or two.

Mountain Biking

Our guided mountain biking tours are extremely popular and give you the chance to get out and explore this fabulous part of the Algarve. Our guides know the local surrounding area well and will tailor make a ride to suit. All our guided tours and bike hire are FREE of charge to our guests.

Choose to head east along the coast taking in a quaint old fishing village on the way. Or head west and enjoy secluded beaches and stunning sunsets.

An inland ride takes you on forest trails lined with Eucalyptus and pine trees.

Guided tours usually take approximately 2 hours and take in a cafe stop at a scenic half way point.

Our bikes are a new fleet of specialist Hard Rock bikes which are modern and light.

Fitness programme

We have a full programme of aerobics and fitness which runs 6 days a week.

Our fully qualified aerobics instructors run daily classes to suit all levels of fitness and include aqua sessions and body pump on the schedule.

Tennis

The Ocean Club is home to a Tennis Centre with resident British tennis professionals running a programme of Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) endorsed coaching and private tuition.

Tuition Courses

The Tennis Centre organises a programme of social tennis and tournaments throughout the week that cost nothing to join. Racquets and balls are available for you to use free of charge throughout your stay. There are a total of 5 hard painted tennis courts for guests to use.

Signature Hole: Weaving between bunkers and water hazzards, the stunning par-4 7th on the outward nine has beautiful views of the ocean.

Parque de Floresta

Dress Code: Collared shirts and soft spikes.
The Course: Parque de Floresta is a rugged course and it notorious for its sloping fairways and large ravines.
Signature Hole: The 5th, a 123 yard par 3 is surrounded by bunkers which make an accurate tee shot essential.

The Course: This Frank Pennink designed course enjoys a beautiful location near Lagos, commanding magnificent views of Lagos bay and the distant Mochique hills.
Signature Hole: five of the 18 holes are situated on sand dunes along the Atlantic coast on the Meia Praia beach. The 5th hole is without a doubt one of the most outstanding links holes in Europe.

Childcare

Childcare is available at the Ocean Club for children aged 1 year upwards. Our team of experienced qualified British childcare staff are enthusiastic and always on hand, throughout the day and in the evenings so parents are safe in the knowledge their children are in good hands.

Our toddler 1 club has lots of room for indoor and outdoor play and plenty of stimulating toys and games. We aim to maintain a ratio of one nanny to every three children.
