Ngala Lodge is a small, intimate hotel which is very popular with repeat guests. As a child-free property, the tropical gardens remain peaceful throughout the day with ample space to find your own secluded spot. The Ngala Lodge has excellent reviews on Trip Advisor with an average reviewer rating of 5 out of 5.

The atmosphere at Ngala Lodge is extremely relaxed with very individual service; to help you unwind you can enjoy a massage or manicure in your suite or choose to have breakfast on your private balcony or terrace - nothing is too much trouble. In addition to ten suites in the main lodge, each different in its own unique way, there are upgraded Manor suites enjoying sea views and set within their own private garden with a shared Jacuzzi. For honeymooners or anyone looking for something truly special, we recommend the Atlantic suites, which are very spacious and have their own private Jacuzzi on the terrace or balcony.

Within the grounds there are a number of sunbathing or seating areas and traditional African bantabas or meeting places, which provide private hideaways for guests to enjoy a relaxing drink and a quiet book. There is also a swimming pool and small beach which can be reached at low tide via steep steps - a great spot for fishing.

In the evening, the cliff top restaurant not only serves excellent food with daily specials inspired by its English chef, Jonathan Groves, but has a wonderful view of the ocean at sunset. A la carte dining is also available (at a supplement for half board guests) and the restaurant's sumptuous sample menus can be viewed online at Gambia.co.uk/Ngalarestaurant. The low key entertainment, along with a weekly African night with dancers, create an inviting atmosphere.

With just 18 suites, excellent customer questionnaire feedback and a high percentage of returning guests, this unique property really is a little gem.
