If you are travelling with young children the temperature in resort may be a consideration. In the height of summer, places such as Dubai and the Red Sea can reach temperatures of up to 50 degrees so you may wish to save these places for a winter sun break and opt for somewhere when the heat is a little more bearable in July and August such as the Balearics, Portugal, Turkey and Spain.
Many of the long established tourist European destinations of Western Europe such as Spain cater very well for families with safe beaches, kids clubs, children's pools and all inclusive holidays available in a broad range of resorts. Eastern Europe is trying to catch up and Bulgaria offers holidays at really low prices for families compared to its western counterparts.
Florida is dream holiday location for a family holiday with theme parks such as Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios offering plenty to keep small and big kids entertained. If you are looking for a family holiday on a budget, increasingly hotels are adding waterparks and in Turkey this is particularly popular.
Cheap Family Holidays
As holiday prices are based on supply and demand, it so falls that the cheapest holidays for families are available outside of school holiday dates so we recommend taking advantage of these deals while your children are at the pre-school age. During school holidays, prices are higher and the best family hotels will sell out early so we advise booking months in advance in order to take advantage of early booking discounts and free child places (prices rarely decrease on July and August dates). From time to time, a really great deal pops up in the school holidays so keep an eye on our school holiday offers which include low cost travel deals in the summer and over Easter, Christmas and Half Term.
