Located on a small peninsula on Turkey's southern Mediterranean coast, Side is a popular beach resort and a fascinating blend of the ancient and modern world. The area is rich in history with an amphitheatre and Roman temples nearby.
Side is surrounded by golden sandy beaches that offer holidaymakers the perfect chance to relax the day away or take part in various water sports if they're feeling adventurous.
Who is Side suitable for?
A Side holiday is perfect for those seeking a relaxing beach based break with lots of restaurants and bars to wile away the hours. It will suit sun worshippers and history enthusiasts equally with its mix of wonderful beaches and historic monuments.
Families enjoy the long, wide beaches with soft sands and shallow water, as they're ideal for children of all ages. A wide range of water sports including diving and waterskiing should also help keep the whole family entertained.
Sightseeing in Side
On your Side holiday, pay a visit to the Temples of Apollo and Athena, which date back to 2nd century AD. Situated next to the harbour in Side they stand tall in the resort skyline.
If you're looking to get away from fellow tourists for a day travel to the traditional nearby town of Colakli, which has a fantastic beach and traditional tavernas.
Manaygat Waterfall is interesting to visit because of its
unusual horseshoe shape. Not as high as traditional waterfalls, it
drops only 2 metres but measures 40 metres wide. Due to this it has
a more gentle flow of water but still a powerful current.
