Playacar is a luxury resort in the Riviera Maya, on Mexico's Caribbean coast. The resort is centered on two areas, the beachfront and the golf course.
Mexico is a tourist favourite due to its year-round sunshine, and a Playacar holiday won't disappoint. The hottest months are between May and November, which also happens to be the rainy season but don't let this put you off - the light showers provide a refreshing break from the heat!
Who is Playacar suitable for?
Playacar holidays are popular with everyone because of the fantastic weather, great beaches, nearby sights and relaxed but entertaining nightlife.
Golf is a very big reason for many visits to the resort, as Playacar is home to a championship golf course. Designed by one of the world's top architects it's said to me one of the most difficult courses in the area and lies in a fantastic spot surrounded by lakes.
What are the beaches like in Playacar?
The white sand and clear blue water at Playacar will meet all beach lovers' needs. Relax with a drink, dip your toes in the calm Caribbean Sea or take some shade under one of the many palm trees.
If this all sounds too laid back for you then take advantage of some of the water sports on offer; sailing, kayaking, diving and wind surfing are all readily available along the coast.
Sightseeing in Playacar
If you can manage to tear yourself away from the beach there's numerous sightseeing options within easy reach of Playacar.
On your holiday to Playacar, take the ferry to the nearby island Cozumel and spend the day diving among part of the 32km-long Great Maya Barrier Reef that lies alongside the resort.
Wander through the cliff top ruins of Tulum and try to imagine how the Mayan city used to be.
