Originally a fishing village, Cala Bona lies on the east coast of Majorca approximately 45 miles from Palma airport.  The port in Cala Bona is a working port with fishermen still using traditional style fishing boats and you can stroll around the promenade lined with shady trees and watch the fishermen at work.
Who visits Cala Bona?
Cala Bona is a quiet resort with a small sand and gravel beach with some small bays and caves which is popular with both German and British holidaymakers.   A longer sandy beach can be found over the rocks at the neighbouring resort of Cala Millor.  The resort centre of Cala Bona has a selection of handicraft and tourist type shops with cafes and bars lying along the tree-lined streets.
How to get about in Cala Bona
A local bus service connects Cala Bona to nearby resorts and villages and there is a mini train which runs between Cala Bona and neighbouring Cala Millor.  In addition there is a selection of excursions to various attractions on the island of Majorca including Caves of Drach, the old town of Arta, San Salvador monastery etc.  Local boat trips are also available from Cala Bona.

During the day in Cala Bona there are various activities including water sports, a dive centre, go karting, crazy golf, water sports, cycle hire and horse riding with golf courses nearby.
At night in Cala Bona there are the cafes and bars with additional music bars and nightclubs.  In season there is an open-air club just outside the  town  For a larger range of restaurants, Calor Millor can provide a wide selection of  more international style of dining.
