What's the nightlife like in Puerto del Carmen?

Holidays in Puerto del Carmen have a lively nightlife and are popular with younger holidaymakers although do not attract the undesirable 'lager lout' crowd. The Avenida de las Playas is the place to be when it comes to bars and nightclubs whilst the harbour offers some more modern and stylish places. A quieter evening can be found in nearby Playa de los Pocillos or Matagorda.

Sightseeing in Puerto del Carmen

Puerto del Carmen's location makes it ideal for visiting some of the cultural attractions in Lanzarote. A visit to Timanfaya (Fire Mountain) is a must where you can ascend the lava slopes riding a camel. The volcanic caves of Cueva de los Verdes are a spectacular site, home of the blind albino crabs with one of the caverns being used for evening entertainment with a restaurant and bar. It is also possible to take the ferry from Playa Blanca and day trip to Fuerteventura.
