Playa Pesquero Holidays

Playa Pesquero Holidays Holidays

Playa Pesquero is a small resort and working village at the East end of Cuba's north coast.

The area was originally a farming community, taking its name from the term 'guard the cow', referring to pirate raids of the 16th century. Today it is still a big horse rearing area although tourism is also a popular trade.

Playa Pesquero is near to Cayo Bariay, which according to legend is where Christopher Columbus first set foot on Cuban land.

Who is Playa Pesquero suitable for?

A Playa Pesquero holiday is ideal for those with relaxation in mind. It's the perfect place to get away from it all and indulge in some quiet beach days soaking up the sunshine. If water sports are your thing, you'll find a variety of options on the resort's beach including scuba diving.

Thanks to its year-round sunshine Playa Pesquero is popular with British holidaymakers seeking some winter sun. August is the hottest month, ideal for those who want true Caribbean heat.

What are the beaches like in Playa Pesquero?

Playa Pesquero is a beach resort, and it doesn't disappoint. Soft golden sands lead into warm, clear seas making it the ideal location for whiling away the hours. The beach is lined by a promenade and backed by shady trees offering the chance to keep cool when it's needed.

Water sports are popular and lots are available. A diving centre offers everything you'll need to explore the submerged caves and other good diving sites nearby.

If you prefer to stay above water why not rent a pedallo or take the more relaxed approach and sail aboard a catamaran on the surrounding seas.
